On borrowed space and borrowed time
Our evanescent lives have survived and thrived.
Nothing was ever truly ours and never will it be,
For our existence is a temporary elastic dent,
On space-time and all that we unsee.
From the gravity underneath
To the air we live beneath,
We’ll all dissappear someday.
In a black and white world,
that moment we’ll be gray.
And all that will be left of us,
Will be a few words to say.
And for these few words we must be brave,
Brave enough to leave a mark that doesn’t fade.
A mark not of our arrogance or of our name,
But a mere mark of our existence,
“Here lived the human race”
