The Curtain Rises

We sit down, each at our seat.
Breathe deep and behold.
History is about to repeat.
The curtain rises and the whispers subside.
With a fluid grace the musicians arrive.
And even before we can catch our breath,
The aura starts to come alive.
The first note vibrates through the silent air.
It’s motion sending shivers down our spines.
The second follows suit,
And many more in a pattern so divine.
The voices cascade down the fabric of time,
Each interlude commanding it to stop and it surrenders.
The palpable tension is a euphony and becoming.
For the voilin calls and the singers sing.
The piano echoes and the guitars ring.
Like a synchronized sacred ritual,
The symphony amplifies and stills our breaths.
The instruments come together and worship the god,
The one that sits among the spellbound spectators.
For they’ve come from all caste, religions, sex and classes.
Friends, families, lovers and haters.
The tempo rises and the voices now whisper.
The chorus starts to fade and the instruments intensify.
Oh, this serenade, low and behold, has our blood electrified.
And as the long awaited crescendo comes closer,
This chant casts a spell too irresistible.
The beat quickens and never drops.
The tunes echo and never stop.
Our hearts hammer against our chests and the adrenaline pumps out faster.
Let us hear the beauty of the universe we live in, we whisper and they oblige.
Oh, the harmony is like a blinding light,
Its warmth spreading across our thirsty skins.
We rise from our seats, breathless and hypnotized as the curtain starts to fall.
Mesmerized, each soul gasps as the ground shakes,
But the symphony never breaks.
Our hearts and hands tremble,
In a trance the euphony reaches us,
And like a drug we take it in.
But with that last compelling note hanging in the tangible magic of the air.
We each bow to worship the language of music.
And I smile as I rise slowly,
For I am too indebted to the heavens to have let me witness the moment the unmatchable power of music was voiced as no more unseen,
But as I rose from that unforgettable night,
I heard the birds chirp and woke up from my dream.

  1. Okay what sort of an ensemble has got a violin, a piano and a guitar? That’s pretty uncommon man.

Well written as usual, I could imagine the whole thing before my eyea

Absolutely amazing. I can’t even begin to express how much I liked this. I think I’m still in awe of how well you put together this whole scene that I could imagine every single instance. Well done.
You were amazed by the music in the scene, and here I am wondering what a beautiful writer you are.
