Until Midnight

You won’t believe me If I’d tell you,
If I tell you about what I saw.
Oh it was outworldly and surreal,
Defying all known physical laws.

Sitting on my roof last night,
I watched the creatures fly.
But I didn’t dare reach out for them,
Oh not until midnight.

For true magic is not visible to us while
we’re blinded by the brightness of daylight.
Because only in nightshade do the fairytales come true,
Not until midnight do they take flight.

As the fireflies flew the grass glowed blue.
The gnomes and elves came on fire breathing dragons.
The dwarves jumped down from the shoulders of the giants,
and the princesses stepped down from their pumpkin wagons.

Then came the nocturnal lycanthropes and the immortal undead.
The first in shades of pale moon white, and the latter draped in blood red.
I soon put all my worries on hold,
and let this psychedelic and bewitching scene unfold.

Now, will you watch this magical event with me?
Believe me it was a mesmerizing sight.
Please come and sit here by my side,
Then together we can wait until midnight.

  1. This is so purely magical Madame . See Madame , just popping was my Madame’s write , here to me it give me the wondrous rhymsic rhymes :
“So something out the blue ,
We were magic and imbued ,
We glow in the darkest of the merry winter drew ,
Just Something of a kind we were ,
Sparkling even in the afternoon .
    Our eyes shine bright ,
We are the Messengers of the 7th sky and plumule ,
The way our hearts glow ,
One takes his feeling out through
And the way we cross our path ,
They tail it the certainities of the
    Wish star unto ,
we are the stars of Travisity
Just as we she with a boom πŸ™‚ ”

  2. This is magical! I could totally imagine, sitting on a roof in the midnight, gazing at the stars, observing constellations, laughing and talking away! (Even candles floating in the sky, that’s when Hogwarts collides with my fantasies)
Aah dwarves, gnomes, pumpkin wagons, could it make me want it, anymore?
Fairytales. Midnight. Sky. Magic. All my favvs❀
    And ofc, the poet herself!
I don’t know if the invite was for someone specific or whatever, but I’m on my way to see the sight! β€βš“

  4. “Now, will you watch this magical event with me?” Yes it’d love to, Megha. It’s absolutely magical and pure bliss to read this. Reminding us of how we live in our own fantasy world amidst reality. and our lives, fairytales nonetheless. For if we wait till midnight, if we let ourselves feel the ambiance, search and see and not just look, we’d find “As the fireflies flew the grass glowed blue./The gnomes and elves came on fire breathing dragons.” and the many more you say!
The fantasy world I’d forever wanna live in, even at 18. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Oh take me there!
    It’s such an amazing poem indeed. ❀ ❀ ❀

And don’t you worry, fantasies and fairytales never discriminate on age. πŸ˜‰
