Such is the Silhouette

Such is the silhouette of chaos and chill.
It’s what you see when your thoughts are nearing the edge,
Almost as if about to spill.
It’s what you see when desperation is slipping through your veins,
and in your attempts to find solace,
you turn to the pale and pink pills.

Such is the silhouette of being torn and tarnished.
It’s what you see when your body starts to give up,
witnessing your hopes and dreams vanish.
It’s what you see when your head and heart hurt,
When you hear the distant echo of being banished.

But such is the silhouette of glitter and good.
It’s what you’ll see when you’re weak and weathered,
It’s what you’ll seen when you’re marooned and misunderstood.

And such is the silhouette of heartbeat and happiness.
It’s the one that you’ll see when madness and mayhem erupts,
and you find yourself in a colossal mess.
The one that you can never unsee.
The one that never seems to go.
Maybe it’s not a silhouette after all,
Maybe it has always been your shadow?
