This is our Society

Where hearts are broken,
And bones are bended.
Where friendships are torn,
But never mended.
This is our society.

Where it’s all a play and pretend,
And no one truly is your friend.
Where tongues are razor sharp,
No one cares, no one tends.
This is our society.

Where money is above all,
And with it one desires to fall.
Where people divide our planet,
Where they keep on building walls.
This is our society.

Where depression is no more a condition,
But a habit of the masses.
Where everyday is a masquerade,
And where everyone is losing patience.
This is our society.

Where sympathy and pity is all we have,
But there’s not a drop of humanity.
Where people are puppets,
Bound together with strings of anxiety.
This is our society.

Sucked in a blackhole of desperation.
Where all the colours are faded.
Where the faces always have a smile,
Even though they feel so jaded.
This is our society.

Where awake is not better than a dream.
Where fictions and fantasies are what we seek.
Where we drag our life through thick and thins,
And pass a soulless existence to the next of kin.
This is our society.

But this is our society,
And we know exactly how it is.
We know what our problem is
And we know how to solve it.

Life is tough for us all,
And for many it just gets tougher.
But with days rolling by and with the countless breaths we take,
Each of us gets rougher.

We know we’ve lost our touch with humanity,
In trying to get everything at one touch.
But with our conscience tugging at our sleeves,
We’ve realized we’ve lost too much.

Restoring our senses back,
We’re slowly smiling again.
The wound is starting to heal,
Even though there’s still a little pain.

But with pain one cries and with it one grows.
Today, we’re dreaming of a brighter tomorrow.
Where the sky will be a sapphire jewel,
Allowing us to let go of our pain and sorrows.

When you fall down.
Remember,
There’s always a hand to pull you up.
When you’re desperate and alone.
Remember,
There’s always someone to show care and love.
When the village is wounded and there are cries of pain.
Remember,
Some cherishing hands move forward, for many kind hearts still remain.
When gloom and sadness is all you feel.
Remember,
With the human race you’ll heal.
And we’ll heal together,
We’ll stand stronger and better.
Because this is us,
This is our society.
